¿SHIATSU ≠ MASSAGE ?
Massages are performed directly on the skin. The person who receives the massage lies naked (covered with a towel) and, consequently, their attitude during the session is passive and receptive. It is a time to relax, to isolate from the external world and the routine in order to get a more intimate, personal and deeper connection, to reach inside oneself letting go of what is not needed.
The same happens with Shiatsu.
Here, however, the contact, approach and dynamics are different. The fact of being dressed and working on the floor creates a relationship with gravity which for many people is new and sometimes surprising, and gives more space for work proposals and for expressing and responding to them.
The recipient does not necessarily have to stay passive and receptive. On the contrary, they are encouraged to connect with the touch and the breathing, to communicate and interact with the therapist. The work proposals and the direction of the session arise from this interaction. Together, we discover and investigate new paths and ways.
Each person will choose what most intrigues and works for them, but ultimately, what benefits, heals and helps is the CONTACT.
Welcome, and see you soon!
